  1. Comprehensive Behavioural Assessment:

Jodie begins by conducting a thorough assessment of the child's behaviour, considering the context, triggers, and patterns of the concerning behaviours. This assessment involves interviews with the child, parents, teachers, and other relevant individuals. Observations in different settings, behavioural assessments, and standardised tools may be utilised to gather comprehensive information.

   2. Collaboration and Communication:

Jodie facilitates effective communication and collaboration between the child, parents, teachers, and any other involved parties. Regular meetings and updates are scheduled to discuss progress, share insights, and make necessary adjustments to the intervention plan. Collaboration ensures a consistent approach across home and school settings.

   3. Psychoeducation and Skill Building:

Jodie provides psychoeducation to the child and their family, helping them understand the underlying reasons for the behaviours and providing strategies to manage them effectively. She equips the child with coping skills, emotional regulation techniques, and social skills training to enhance their behavioural repertoire.

   4. Parenting Support and Guidance:

Jodie offers guidance to parents on positive parenting techniques, behaviour management strategies, and effective communication. She helps parents understand their child's perspective, enabling them to implement consistent and supportive approaches at home.

   5. School Collaboration and Advocacy:

Jodie collaborates closely with the school, advocating for appropriate accommodations, modifications, and support services for the child. This collaboration ensures that the child's specific needs are met in the academic environment, reducing stressors that may contribute to behavioural concerns.

By combining assessment, individualised intervention planning, collaboration, education, and ongoing support, Jodie helps children/adolescents and their families address ongoing behavioural concerns effectively, promoting a more harmonious and supportive home and school environment.
